What's been going on at SD

May 5, 2014

We've made some changes over the last year or so. After a bunch of evaluation we came to the conclusion that we needed to narrow our scope.

Starting mid 2013 we stopped taking on engine orders and also stopped building and selling shortblocks and rotating assemblies and many lower end components. We've also reduced the parts and product lines on our website that we were selling as the parts side of the business hasn't been a very large part of our business anyway and we were finding for the time and money involved the real profit wasn't enough on a lot of items. Considering all the cylinder head work we are now involved with building our CNC Pontiac head packages as well as other CNC machining and general cylinder head machining we now do on a mostly wholesale basis for other shops in our area, time spent in the shop continues to become more valuable.

Lisa is only working part time in the office now, so please be patient with getting a returned phone call if you get the voicemail. If at all possible e-mail us as you will more often than not get a quicker response. If you have a general Pontiac technical question please e-mail us as we just don't have time in our day to deal with these type of questions on the phone. Dave is now doing all the machining and cylinder head building personally so needless to say his time is very valuable in the shop. Don't get us wrong we are still providing personalized service to all our customers new and old, we're just asking if it's possible to at least work through some of your questions via e-mail would be greatly appreciated as the number of phone calls we can get in a day would require in some cases the entire day to deal with, which means production in the shop comes to a "grinding" halt. We are grateful for all the support we continue to receive and we are doing our best to serve our customers needs as well as continue to keep SD moving forward as a business.
