We spend a considerable amount of time testing different camshaft configurations on the track and on the dyno, give us a call to discuss the best choice for your particular combination.

Note: When using a stock OEM valley pan and any type of Roller Lifter, be sure to clearance the underside of the valley pan with a hammer so it will clear the link bars on the roller lifters. 72 and prior valley pans only need to be clearanced on the Passenger side right below the PCV valve back to about the middle of the engine while 73 and up valley pans require clearancing on both sides. The best way to check for clearance is to have no heads on the shortblock, the lifters installed and then place the valley pan on the block, rotate the crank/cam to be sure there is adequate clearance (about .100"). "Stump Puller" Custom Hyd. Roller Cam
The name speaks for itself, this cam works well in mild 455-474ci with ported heads. Provides plenty of vac. for power accessories and makes very strong power off idle to 5500rpm. This cam was designed with RA/HO exhaust manifolds in mind and gives up very little performance with the manifolds over a 4 tube header. It also works well in moderate 389-428ci combo's. In a recent dyno test this cam installed in a 464ci engine with 9.5 to 1 compression, a set of our 250-260cfm CNC ported #11 cast iron heads, CNC ported cast iron Q-jet intake and a prepped Q-jet carb made 503hp and 575+ lb/ft of torque on 91 octane.

"Old Faithful" Custom Hyd. Roller Cam
This cam is by far our most popular street/strip cam for 455-474ci engines. The name came from all the dyno testing we were doing on different combinations, this cam works so well in so many different applications we started calling it "Old Faithful" and the name stuck. It provides a healthy sound at idle but really has a split personality as you can literally daily drive it but when you squeeze the throttle it'll pull till 6000+rpm in a heart beat. It supports power accessories and in our opinion (as well as a lot of customers) provides the best balance between daily driver street manners and track performance. This cam coupled with one of our aluminum CNC ported head packages and CNC runner ported Torker II intakes produces an awesome 565+hp and 590-600lb/ft of torque but still maintains excellent street manners. "Road Paver" Custom Hyd. Roller Cam
Our customer Jim Bollinger came up with the name as I warned him that the 535 we built him would be a rubber road paving machine!!! We offer this cam in 2 versions, 112 lobe sep for 4.21/4.25" stroke engines and a 114 lobe sep for 4.5" stroke engines. The 112 lobe sep version is border line for supporting power brakes, it needs a 3000+rpm stall and carries power well over 6000rpm when matched with a set of our aluminum CNC ported cylinder heads. In 535+ci combo's it's very streetable and capable of producing 650+hp on pump gas. It's also proven to work well in aggressive street 4" stroke engines.
